The pilot episode was filmed in October 1983 but held back from ABC executives for nearly a year due to the producers of the series being afraid that the show would be rejected by ABC executives if pitched as a mid-season replacement series.
The exterior shots of the home used in the opening sequence as well as various points throughout the show's run is in real life located on 13 Onondaga St., Rye, New York.

Plot: Former major-leaguer Tony Micelli and his daughter Samantha arrive at the Connecticut household of executive Angela Bower, where Tony has taken a job as live-in housekeeper. The Bowers are an interesting family, to say the least. Angela is uptight and obsessed with her work. Her son Jonathan is shy and lacks self-esteem, and her mother, Mona, is a man-hungry vixen. Tony soon wins them over with his laid back style, and the Bowers soon begin to loosen up. Over time, romantic tensions begin to surface between Angela and Tony, and we see the children grow up.

When I bought my collection of Judith clippings a few months ago, there were several about WTB so I thought some of you might want to see them. They are so old and the paper is so fragile that I was afraid to put them through my scanner... it feeds the paper through like a printer does, instead of letting the item sit flat like a copy machine. So I was afraid they would tear and wrinkle with the scanner, and I just photographed them instead - some of the pictures aren't the best, but it's better than nothing.

I have a question about the photo in this clipping: do you think this was a photo from an epsiode, or is it a picture of them between takes? I can't recognize the clothing to determine which episode it's from... it's a really cute picture though! It looks almost like Judith is holding a script, and I can't remember ever seeing Tony with a cart full of cleaning supplies, so I'm guessing it's a photo of them off-camera.

One more clipping for you! I wish the picture was in color instead of black and white, but you can still tell that Tony and Judith are cute together, they seem to be having fun. And once again, it looks like an off-camera picture of them - it looks like Judith is hugging Tony.

I think the picture you were referring to where Judith was holding a script was a publicity photo, well that's what I assumed.

I love that so much i made that into my office desktop wallpaper. Tony was holding a mop and then angela a briefcase. There's another variety of that photo. I'll send it to you on monday. It's saved in my office computer.

Here's some pictures of the script I got from ebay... some of you asked me how many pages it was, and it is 58 pages long. There are some big differences between the script and the pilot episode of the show, mainly the ending and Angela's talk with Grant in the boardroom. In the last picture I posted here, you can see the "Crunchy Crawlers" was originally called "Sugar Crunchies."

What was the difference in the dialogue of Angela with Grant?

People can call me whatever but they shouldn't think Angela went out with Grant just for the promotion becase I know she didn't. She likes him and besides she's smart enough to get to the top. She doesn't need to suck up.

I definitely think she didn't go with him for a Weekend Getaway. It's not in her character. I hate it when some people insinuate otherwise.

What do you think friend? Am I just giving her too much credit?

Hey Jen, this is the picture I was telling you about, a variation of the one you posted. It looks like a publicity photo. This is my all-time favorite wtb picture. I have several favorite romantic shots of Tony and Angela but I see JL and TD in them even of they are only portraying their characters. But this one for me is the cutest shot that depicts the theme of the show---really adorable.

You last post is empty to me Jenron ! So strange !

That's been happening, don't know why... there were some posts from Kathy, Sandrine, and myself with Judith's picture at the AIDS walk, and they were empty too. Now they are gone, so I don't know what happened there.
